Self-introduction
I'm Arthur Lee, a student at National Tsing Hua University double-majoring in Physics and EECS, and currently a part-time research assistant at the CITI, Academia Sinica. My research interests span AI4Science, brain-inspired predictive coding, and machine-learning algorithms. This summer, I'm excited to join the Taiwan Global Pathfinders Initiative at UCLA to study biomedical engineering and quantum science, and I hope to combine AI with biomedicine to make a greater contribution to society.

I'm Millie Liu, a speech-language pathology researcher with training in cognitive neuroscience and digital health. My work focuses on early dementia detection through language, hearing, and multimodal biomarkers. Through the UCLA program, I hope to bring interdisciplinary tools back to Taiwan and support earlier, more accessible screening for Mandarin-speaking older adults.

Hi, I'm Ryan. I'm pursuing an MS in Applied Data Science (MSADS) at the University of Chicago, focused on data-analytics AI agents and on structuring and optimizing structured medical databases such as electronic health records (EHR). I recently became an IBM Quantum Qiskit Advocate. Before studying abroad I spent several years working across fields in Taiwan as a project manager and a two-time founder, giving me both a technical and a business-execution perspective. In summer 2026 I'm an AI Developer Intern with UChicago IT and United Airlines while joining the I-9-11 MedTech-Quantum program at UCLA.

Hi, I'm Joyce. My research applies quantum computation to drug design, particularly for Alzheimer's disease, using quantum-chemistry methods to model the interaction energy between drug candidates and target pathogenic proteins, with the goal of mapping these problems onto quantum computers. I'm also interested in broader medical applications of quantum computation, including brain imaging and connectomics, as well as quantum machine learning and quantum algorithms.

I'm a recent MSc graduate from the University of Toronto's Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. My research focused on the neuropsychiatric symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, including the therapeutic potential of cannabinoids and the role of neuroinflammation, particularly astrogliosis, in the pathophysiology of agitation in Alzheimer's disease. I hope to expand my knowledge through this program and apply it to drug development and clinical trials in Taiwan.

At NTU's Institute of Physiology I study ion channels, neuroscience and in-vivo electrophysiology, using them to dissect how anti-epileptic drugs work. Through this program I hope to learn how AI and quantum techniques apply to neuroscience and drug development, and to fold what I learn back into my research.

Jewel is an undergraduate at Brandeis University pursuing a B.S. in Neuroscience and Biochemistry. She is currently working on a project involving a protein called P450cam under the guidance of Professors Thomas Pochapsky and Yihan Shao, exploring the potential of combining molecular-dynamics techniques with AI. In her free time she enjoys people-watching, listening to Rachmaninoff, and trying new bakeries.
